....Sons of Texas is a LARGE sounding entity, originating from the Austin, Texas area comprised of Keyboards, Drums, and various side instruments as needed. The band works Rockport, Austin and the surrounding area an average of 100 dates a year. The band, originally from Fort Worth, Texas, won MCMA awards in 1993 for Keyboard Player of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and Band of the Year. Since relocating in the Rockport area, the band has gone through some personnel changes, repertoire changes, and re-released their latest CD, Live Somewhere in Austin, which was originally released in November of 1999. Listed in the Austin Musicians Registry and billed as a variety dance band, they meet the criteria well with enthusiasm, audience participation, powerful vocals, and an energetic repoire, giving a powerful performance.

....Players in the band are Dusty Wilson, front, keyboards, key-bass, lead and harmony vocals; Ernie Muro, guitar, fiddle, lead and harmony vocals; Cliff Gray, drums and percussion; and Various local talent, variety of instruments.....The players have a combined musical background on stage and in the studio of approximately 70 years, in which individually they have performed with and for many "major artists" and events. This experience only enhances the variety which they adeptly display.

....Supporting the band are Trish Wilson, photographer, coordinator, does her best to keep all this organized.; Craig Moody, "Fat Daddy" cook extraordinaire, keeps us fed well; CJ Woods, chief seamstress, tries to keep us lookin' sharp; Willie Krebs, equipment curator, provides equipment as needed; Dennis Crisp, road crew, keeps me from sweating.

....All in all, a well rounded, well supported, and well received musical package, with one common goal, to please a music and dance loving audience,ranging from lounge music, to full blown festival events.
